Dormitory Evacuations

fire exitNever believe a fire alarm is false. When the alarm sounds proceed to the door of your room and check it for heat with the back of your hand. If cool, slowly open the door and proceed to the nearest exit making sure to close your door as you leave.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with the evacuation procedures posted on the back of your door. The evacuation map indicates your secondary means of exit in case the main exit is blocked.

Failure to leave your room during a fire alarm will result in disciplinary action. Please refer to the Fire Safety Policy for information.
