universal wasteThe phosphor powder found inside fluorescent lamps contains mercury. Computer monitors, televisions, and electronic equipment can contain lead. In accordance with 310 CMR 30.1000 which establishes the requirements for managing universal waste, Williams College has established the following guidelines for the recycling of items such as computer monitors, televisions, fluorescent lamps and other mercury containing devices such as thermostats and thermometers.
